Referee Ed Hochuli was at training camp today. He gave the usual rhetoric surrounding the calls made in the Super Bowl. He did make one good point when he said, "it seemed like the big calls went against Seattle." The referees make mistakes or calls that can go eiher way in every game. The problem with the Super Bowl was that all of those calls went against Seattle, and it certainly made it seem like the officiating crew had it in for the Seahawks. Even if all of the questionable calls were borderline and could have gone either way, it begs the question - Why did they all go the way of the Steelers? AP Sports Writer Gregg Bell discusses the
referees visit to Seahawks Training Camp in detail.
The referees at Seahawks camp donned the new outfits they will be wearing this season - at least the shirts as they will still wear the traditional white
knickers. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said, "the biggest reason we changed was to upgrade the performance quality of the uniform." It certainly was not for the style, although Aiello also said another reason "was to give the uniforms a more modern, updated, distinctly NFL look." In short, they look horrible. I think they should go back to the outfits they wore in the 1930s, which Aiello said consisted of "solid white dress shirts with bow ties and beanies."
