I will have a detailed analysis of the game later tonight or tomorrow, but here are some quick hits of what we saw:

- Ben Obomanu has the #5 WR spot on lockdown. He looked as good or better than he has in practice. Logan Payne and Joe Fernandez are clearly way behind him, but way ahead of everyone else. Chris Jones earned some playing time by producing in practice and produced again when given a chance against San Diego. Jordan Kent is at best the 8th receiver on the depth chart (and that is leaving out the injured Courtney Taylor).

- Seneca Wallace struggled. I am not sure how much we should read into that, but it wouldn't have taken much for David Greene to have looked better, if he had gotten into the game. Wallace needs to be better than that.

- Russell Davis and Darryl Tapp looked exceptional. Davis helps ease concern over the health of Marcus Tubbs. Tapp looks like he will start by the end of the year and almost certainly play more snaps than Bryce Fisher. I was inclined to think that before, but he confirmed it tonight.

- Will Herring played well. They were even using him at MLB with Kevin Bentley and Lance Laury. That is a result of Niko Koutouvides being out, but it was interesting that it was Herring at MLB, instead of Bentley.

- C.J. Wallace got the pick at the end of the game, but more important for him was that he is clearly the #5 safety on the depth chart. Mike Green didn't play as long as Michael Boulware, and when he came out, it was Wallace that came in at free safety ahead of Patrick Ghee. If that is a practice squad battle, then Wallace is winning right now.

- Kevin Hobbs played as much or more (and better) than Pete Hunter. Neither looked that good, but we can put to rest any ideas of Pete Hunter beating out Jordan Babineaux, and maybe even rule out Hunter making the team. Hunter totally whiffed on a tackle. It was the kind of play that made you think Kelly Herndon was out there. Hobbs had a nice break-up and then wrapped up on a tackle toward the end of the game. He did have an interception go through his hands, but he was in great position on that play as well. Hobbs could also be competing with C.J. Wallace for a practice squad spot.

- Baraka Atkins was initially a disappointment, but came on late. Brandon Green played more toward the beginning of the game and looked pretty decent. Atkins managed to get some pressure on the quarterback a few times during the second half and wound up playing a pretty decent game.

- Ray Willis looked good at RG. Tom Ashworth played longer than I thought he would at RT. Mansfield Wrotto looks excellent. He is athletic, powerful, and fulfilled his assignment perfectly on the Marquis Weeks touchdown. It was exactly what they were working on in practice, so Bill Laveroni must be happy (more on that later).

- Jonathan Alston played the entire second half at LT, but he was totally demolished on the Obomanu touchdown (and was lucky it was a successful play) and missed an assignment on another play. Steve Vallos and Kyle Williams didn't play very much. However, when they were in there, the right side of the line played well. Williams sustained a nice block and they picked up a 3rd-and-1 right behind him.
